Service learning is a significant and essential element of a student’s education at Shore. For more than twenty years, our students have proudly supported the Rough Edges community centre in the inner-city Sydney suburb of Darlinghurst through volunteer work and joining programmes that deliver positive change. This month, a number of senior school students will be participating in one of those programmes - the Shore Rough Edges Sleep Out. On June 17, one of the longest nights of the year, the students will sleep without shelter to help change the lives of Rough Edges patrons experiencing homelessness and marginalisation.

We are hoping as a community we can show our support to Rough Edges and the students who are sleeping out by donating to help raise much-needed funds for Rough Edges. The money raised will support Rough Edges to continue its vital role in providing a space where the homeless and marginalised can come together, share a meal and connect with each other.
