Team Japan Place Second at Model United Nations Assembly

09 Jun 2025

Six students recently represented Shore at the prestigious Rotary Model United Nations Assembly (MUNA), engaging in a weekend of spirited debate, negotiation, and diplomacy. Representing the nations of Japan and Saudi Arabia, the boys tackled major global issues including climate change, trade, space exploration, and refugee policy. Through thorough preparation and strong teamwork, they demonstrated exceptional skill in articulating their assigned countries’ positions with clarity, humour, and insight.

Team Japan, comprising Joshua L, Henry M, and Yukai Y, earned a very close second place overall, just one point short of progressing to the national round. Team Saudi Arabia, represented by William C, Nicholas E, and Austin X, also impressed with their thoughtful contributions and composed diplomacy. The event provided a valuable opportunity to experience the complexities of global decision-making and helped our students strengthen their public speaking, collaboration, and critical thinking skills.

Congratulations to all involved on an outstanding performance and for proudly representing Shore on the MUNA stage.
