July marked a significant milestone for Shore Robotics as our teams participated in their first-ever competitions, testing their newly built robots. Competing at Knox Preparatory School on Monday 28 July, and Trinity Preparatory School on Wednesday 30 July, our students tested their designs against teams from across Sydney, including 2024 National Champions, where they demonstrated tenacity, ingenuity, and strategic thinking.
Each competition required teams to excel in multiple areas, including Teamwork Challenges, Driving Skills, and Autonomous Skills Challenges. Additionally, students present their Engineering Logbooks and participate in interviews to explain their design and problem-solving processes throughout the season.
Monday at Knox Prep (16 Teams Competing)
• 93601D “Code Blooded” secured the Teamwork 2nd Place Award and the Think Award for their innovative coding approach.
• 93601F “Project Reboot” earned the Energy Award for their enthusiasm and active involvement throughout the day.
• Shore teams placed 5th, 6th, 7th, and 8th overall in the Robot Skills Challenge, which combines driving and autonomous performance.
Wednesday at Trinity Prep (19 Teams Competing)
• 93601E “CHEESY APPLES” achieved the Teamwork 1st Place Award, qualifying them for the State Titles in November, while also winning the Amaze Award.
• 93601C “404?BrainNotFound” received the Inspire Award for their innovative robot design.
These results demonstrate the hard work of our Robotics students, who have spent countless hours designing, building, and refining their robots. As the season progresses, teams will continue to iterate on their designs and compete in upcoming events. We are incredibly proud of their achievements and look forward to seeing what they accomplish next.
