Two boys, Adam Beale Year 12 and Pat Jacombs Year 10 have been selected for the Australian U21 Target Rifle team to contest the World Long Range Championships in New Zealand in January and February 2019. Both boys were members of the Shore First Rifle Shooting team in 2018.

Adam and Pat will be honing their skills in the upcoming months and have been shooting with the Roseville Rifle Club and based on results, they are in fine form. At the Gosford Open Prize Meeting in October comprising three details at 500m both boys performed with distinction. Pat’s awards included 3 first place prizes for distance in B grade; B grade 1st place (aggregate) with a score of 175-29 and the top junior shooter. Pat’s 50.10 in the 2nd detail is considered the ultimate perfect score from a 10 shot match.

Adam’s awards included 2 second place prizes for distance in B Grade and B grade 2nd place (aggregate) with a score of 174-24. Overall, when looking at placings irrespective of grade Pat was King of the range beating all competitors and Adam came in 4th place.

The Shore community wishes both boys the very best in the World Long Range Championships.
