On Thursday we inducted our new Student Leaders, Edward Glendinning and James Meares into the roles of Senior Prefect and Second Prefect respectively at a special Chapel service with the new Year 7 students and key staff. These two young men promised "To keep up the good name of the School both by my own example and by my influence over others" and the year 7 students asked to keep them accountable to these promises. In a world that sees leadership as only a means of personal power and authority, Dr Wright spoke from Philippians 2:5-11 and the example of Christ who did not use his equality with God as something to use for his own advantage, “…but made himself nothing, taking the very nature of a servant, being made in human likeness. And being found in appearance as a man, he humbled himself and became obedient to death – even death on a cross.” We look forward to the year ahead and wish them all the best in their endeavours.
