Thursday 13 February 2020 was a significant day in the history of Shore, with a special Assembly to officially raise the Australian, Aboriginal and Torres Strait Islander flags on Benefactors Quad.

The purpose of this assembly was to acknowledge our respect for the Cammeraygal people of the Eora nation – the traditional custodians of the land on which our North Sydney campus sits, as well as to honour and respect all first nations previous, current and future students at Shore.

The event saw Rev Anthony Benn deliver an Acknowledgement of Country to the assembled Year 7 to Year 12 students and staff, followed by an address from the Headmaster. The event closed with a prayer around the partnership of indigenous and non-indigenous people moving forward together. The Australian flag was raised by our Head Prefect, Jonah Edlington. The Aboriginal flag was raised by Jye Peters in Year 9 from Toormina, NSW. The Torres Strait Islander flag was raised by Rishad Cook-Sabatino in Year 10 who is from Horn Island.
