On Saturday 30 March, 12 senior boys and 10 junior boys entered the Shore Surfing Competition that was held at Long Reef Beach.

Despite the rainy start the surf conditions were excellent. After some great heats, the junior final was dominated by Duncan Cowan who won the event.

The standard of surfing in the seniors was very strong, with each heat strongly contested. The semi-finals of the competition were fierce with many waves being ridden at a high standard. The four-man final was extremely close with the lead changing many times as the surfers exchanged waves on a dropping tide. Leo Tognetti proved too strong in the end winning by a narrow margin. The School warmly congratulates all the boys who participated in this exciting event.
