After 16 years of distinguished service, Shore’s Headmaster, Dr Timothy Wright, has announced his intention to retire at the end of Term 4, 2019.

The seventh Headmaster of Shore, Dr Wright joined the School in 2003. His leadership has been characterised by a clarity of vision, an application of formidable intellect and a constancy of purpose.

During his time at the School Dr Wright has attracted and led an outstanding team of dedicated teachers and educational leaders, together with the wider Shore staff and community. His steadfast delivery of the School’s vision of being the leading comprehensive school in Australia, has maintained its dynamic tradition of authentic and transformative Christian faith, with emphases on engaged rigour in academic work, relational service of others, growth in character, personal best in games and co-curricular activities. Standing upon the Shore foundation, Dr Wright has inspired whole-of-life learning which is contemporary, innovative, adaptable and inclusive in its twenty-first century engagement.

Mr Holman went on to say: “The Shore Community will have abundant opportunity to thank and farewell Dr and Mrs Wright at the end of next year, but in the meantime, the School Council wishes them both well as Dr Wright embarks upon his last few terms as Shore’s Headmaster.”

The School Council has initiated a comprehensive search to appoint a suitable successor to Dr Wright.
