Celebrity Organ Recital

One of the world’s leading organists, Thomas Trotter, will give a celebrity recital in the Shore Chapel.

Thomas Trotter is one of Britain’s most widely acclaimed musicians. He has occupied posts at King’s College Cambridge and Westminster Abbey and has for many years been the Birmingham City Organist and Organist at St Margaret’s Westminster.

He won the Royal Philharmonic Society award, the first ever awarded to an organist, for Best Instrumentalist in 2002 in recognition of his particular achievements as “one of the foremost exponents of the organist’s art”, and in 2012 he was named International Performer of the Year by the New York Chapter of the American Guild of Organists. He is an active recording artist, appearing on the Decca, Hyperion, Regent and Chandos labels.

In 2014 Thomas was accorded the ultimate honour of a Royal Command Performance before the Queen on the occasion of the 150th anniversary of the Royal College of Organists.
